Steve Golob is a graduate of the Red Seal Certificate Program at George Brown Culinary College in Toronto, Ontario. (my hometown too!) Over the course of his 35-year career as a chef, he has has held several positions which include Executive Chef at Sheraton/Clarion Hotels in Vancouver, and was the Host/Chef/Writer of TV Dinners, an award winning Cable television show.
He began his career at UBC 12 years ago, and is the Residence Chef at Place Vanier Residence. He is also linked with the Faculty of Land and Food Systems Program at UBC. As a member of the UBC Culinary Team, he has won 3 medals (1 gold and 2 silver). No wonder his soups are so popular!
Steve is currently a member/coinvestigator of the government-funded ‘Think@Eat Green’ Project Advisory Board , and is also a board member and Chef Instructor with a non-profit organization “Sprouting Chef’s.” “Sprouting Chefs” is dedicated to teaching young kids cooking skills using healthy recipes only.
